Regular price $190.00 Sale

Horsehair pottery originated from the practice of honoring fallen war horses by incorporating their hair into pottery. Native American's believed that the spirit of the horse remained. On the second firing, the piece is washed in a iron based solution and Spanish Moss and then fired to 1100 degrees.

The horsehair is applied at the third firing and leaves its carbon imprint as part of the piece.

This piece also has a fitted ebony lid with a turkey feather.
John has inscribed his name on each piece.
If this piece is sold, the potter can make a similar piece. Please contact me for more information. roger@anniesartfarm.com
