Large Horsehair Vase with Carved Inlaid Lid 10"h x 11"w

Regular price $132.00 Sale

Horsehair pottery originated from the practice of honoring fallen war horses by incorporating their hair into pottery. Native American's believed that the spirit of the horse remained. The horsehair is applied at the second firing and leaves its carbon imprint as part of the piece.

This piece is ten inches high and eleven inches wide. This is one of our largest pieces.

This piece does have unique lid.

Each piece is fired twice and has the name of the master pottery on the base.

Any of our pots can be used in our Pots & Friends program, for more information, check here.
