Horsehair pottery originated from the practice of honoring fallen war horses by incorporating their hair into pottery. Native American's believed that the spirit of the horse remained. The horsehair is applied at the second firing and leaves its carbon imprint as part of the piece. |
The piece is 4 1/2" high and 8" wide. |
This piece also has a fitted ebony lid with a distinctive top, in this piece horns are featured. |
Each piece is fired twice. If you would rather choose this in Spanish Moss, it will be fired a third time. |
