Horsehair pottery originated from the practice of honoring fallen war horses by incorporating their hair into pottery. Native American's believed that the spirit of the horse remained. The horsehair is applied at the second firing and leaves its carbon imprint as part of the piece.  This piece is three and three quarters inches high and five  inches wide. This piece also includes the image of a turkey feather, burned into the piece. Each piece is fired twice and has the name of the master pottery on the base.
