Horsehair pottery originated from the practice of honoring fallen war horses by incorporating their hair into pottery. Native American's believed that the spirit of the horse remained. The horsehair is applied at the second firing and leaves its carbon imprint as part of the piece.
The piece is 4 inches high and 4 and a half inches wide.
This piece also has a fitted ebony lid.
Each piece is fired twice.
John has inscribed his name on each piece.
